School of the Future: AI, Teachers, and the Way Forward

Schools are not prepared for AI. But they need to be.
Here is what should change.
The Problem
Schools teach as if AI does not exist:
- Memorization still valued
- Individual work emphasized
- Technology seen as distraction
- Teachers overworked
This does not prepare students for the real world.
What Should Change
1. AI as Tool, Not Cheating
Teach students to use AI responsibly. Not fear it.
2. Critical Thinking
AI can answer questions. But asking the right questions? That is human work.
3. Collaboration
Work with AI, not against it. Teach teamwork including AI.
4. Teacher Support
AI can help teachers: grading, planning, personalization. Use it.
The Challenges
- Infrastructure
- Training teachers
- Policy
- Resistance
Change is hard. But necessary.
What Teachers Can Do
- Learn AI tools
- Adapt assignments
- Focus on human skills
- Stay curious
You are the bridge. Help students navigate the future.
My Experience
I have two kids. Five and two. I watch them grow up with AI.
They will need different skills than I learned. And I will help them prepare.
The Future
Education will change. Not by replacing teachers, but by augmenting them.
The best schools will embrace AI. The rest will struggle.
Let us push for the former.
