·2 Min. Lesezeit
While WordPress is the most popular and arguably the best CMS platform for businesses and bloggers, it’s not without its flaws. In today’s world, hackers run rampant across the internet, which makes it doubly important that you protect your WordPress. This can be done by running WordPress backups, but there's more to it.
Today I’ll show you the necessity behind WordPress security, followed by an infographic from OnBlastBlog that outlines nine different ways you can secure your website today.

The Importance of a Secure WordPress Website (Infographic)
We all like to think our websites are 100% secure, but without some tweaks and practices in place, there are vulnerabilities present that hackers can use. In fact, back in 2013, 73% of the popular WordPress sites at the time were considered “vulnerable.” What makes WordPress such a target for hackers? It goes beyond the simple fact that it’s so popular. It actually comes from the fact that many people neglect update or verify their WordPress installation. Take a look at these shocking statistics:- 74 versions of WordPress were found across 42,106 websites.
- 11 of these versions were invalid
- 18 websites had non existing versions of WP
- Only 7,814 upgraded to WordPress 3.6.1
- 13,034 of the websites were running a vulnerable version of WP 3.6
